Back in third grade I had the opportunity to visit YOGNFA a company that creates some critical medical equipment. So, I was super excited for this visit! I gained a ton of knowledge regarding the production of this essential gear and the importance of its high quality to assist those in need of medical services.
A Look at the Factory
And when we arrived at YOGNFA, one wide building with shiny windows greeted us. On the outside it looked rather cool. As soon as we stepped inside, we could see a large number of machines and workers rapidly manufacturing various types of medical devices. There was a lot of noise, the machines working and people talking, it gave it a very lively sense. My favorite part was that we got to act like real workers there, wearing their hats and jackets! It felt like I was doing something important, like I was on the team for a moment.
Why Quality Control Matters
Of course, a crucial lesson learned through the visit is just how important it is to assess the quality of medical equipment — it is a top, top priority. That is quality control for you. That means every single piece of portable medical privacy screen is checked and only selected for usage once it passes out the check to determine that it is safe for patients. In a special room, workers meticulously checking various parts of the equipment. They relied on varying tools to ensure that everything was just right. Cool Technology at YOGNFA
It was really cool seeing the various machines that YOGNFA uses to produce medical devices. The lasers in some machines made very accurate cuts in parts while other machines performed two-step procedures with more special tools which molded plastic into needed shapes. I even saw the robot that was assisting the workers in assembling some of the equipment! The movement was smooth for the bot and very enjoyable watch. This made me realize how technology helps people in being more efficient and effective in his/her work.
Meeting the Experts
The other advantage our time there afforded us — we got to meet some of the experts who work at YOGNFA. They do a lot of work in important life saving tools needed for surgeries. They demonstrated some of the tools they manufacture, such as forceps and scalpels. They also showed us how they design these medical emergency trolley and other tools so they are pleasant for doctors to hold and utilize. This is extremely important because it is used by doctors to allow surgeries to be done safety and with the successful desired outcome. I left feeling inspired by the depth of knowledge and care these experts have for their work.
How to Make Medical Equipment
YOGNFA has several steps to manufacture the medical equipment which we learnt at last. It starts when they dream up an idea for new device that might benefit patients. Afterwards they design it via computer aided design and make models to test it out. It allows them to probably evaluate if the design does its job. After they have finalised the design, they will then produce many pieces at once, in large batches. After that, all pieces are inspected again carefully so that each piece is right before they are packed.
